Silly Elf on a Shelf Ideas

Funny Elf on the Shelf Ideas That Will Win Christmas

Attention Christmas fanatics and fellow party people:  Santa’s favorite elf has arrived and this year, he’s here to help you pull pranks on your spouse.  I mean, why should kids get to have all the fun?

If you’re into making memories and having good ‘ol fashioned fun with your fam, these funny Elf on the Shelf ideas have you covered, friends.  This year Blinky, our new Elf on the Shelf, is helping us get in the holiday spirit, with daily surprises! We have a drawer full of light up goodies from past events, so that’ll help us dress up our silly elf scenarios…

For those who don’t know what Elf on the Shelf is, here’s the lowdown:   the idea started as a storybook and has become a big trend holiday tradition that families love.  Rumor has it Santa sends his elves out into the world to spy on kids and find out who’s “naughty or nice.”  Naturally elves get into mischief, hence the Christmas movie classic, so parents keep up this game of placing their elf doll in wacky scenarios every morning until Christmas.  When others wake, it’s time to search for that little troublemaker!  Starting the day with laughter like this is too fun.

Since we don’t have kiddos, we decided to start a tradition of our own.  Husband and I are taking turns each night in December putting Blinky in some wacky scenario, a surprise for the other to wake up to.  Like a scavenger hunt on your way to breakfast LOL.

Elf on the Shelf Idea 1:  Wrap Up Your Honey’s Toothbrush

This simple Elf on the Shelf idea can be done in a jiffy – just be sure to wake up first to flip that switch.

I started our tradition by wrapping my husband’s toothbrush handle with White LED String Lights, mischievous and festive to give him a good chuckle before work.

Elf on the Shelf Idea 2:  Surprise Ring

Elves love the cold but hate the dark, that’s why Elfie took our Snowflake Light Ring into the fridge with him.

I went to the fridge for some juice and was greeted by a frosty surprise!  Aw, Elf, you shouldn’t have. Winter Lights Snowflake Ring is actually some pretty nice bling, with its slow color change lights – I’m wearing this out often thank you very much.

Elf on the Shelf Idea 3:  Christmas Top

Elfie loves an adventure, that’s why he climbed the tree and knocked down a few ornaments on the way!

Running low on ideas or time?  Just pop your Elf atop the Christmas tree.  If your spouse is tall, they’ll have no problem getting him back.  If they’re more on the short side like me, beware of broken ornaments.

Elf on the Shelf Idea 4:  A Christmas Wand Surprise

Blinky brought us some treats for our upcoming holiday events!

Christmas Toys aren’t just for children, as a matter of fact, we plan on using these cool Light Wands all December – got some company Christmas parties to attend plus a night parade.
