DIY Light Up Pumpkin for Halloween Decoration

Everyone’s thinking about the Summer coming to an end.. but Halloween is the only thing on OUR mind! (I guess Octoberfest also…)

FBL is getting ready for one of our FAVORITE Holidays of the year by celebrating the classic tradition: Pumpkin Carving! But with a twist… LIGHTS! How’d you know? Let’s get started.

Step one is to find the perfect pumpkin for you obviously. We wanted to keep our pumpkins for a long time so we bought the craftable plastic pumpkin at the good ol’ Michaels.

Just look at that clean pumpkin; perfect size for the porch, outdoor, table decor and so much more! A quick tip here: Get into the Halloween mood with some Purple LED String lights, our Ghost centerpiece and a few of our LED Candles.

Back to Pumpkin Carving! Just search up any design you’d like online, or get creative and make your own! Just remember to create a big enough hole ( or leave room on the top or bottom ) to fit your light inside.

Now here is where the magic starts! We do have lights you could add into your pumpkin that’s smaller but why not go BIG. Our 2.75″ Deluxe Submersible is the perfect light to add to your pumpkin; just look at the color change! It also comes with a REMOTE so you could adjust your light speed to FAST for that party effect or SLOW for the eerie Halloween night effect. If you’re looking for a solid color, our smaller submersibles are a great replacement!

You only need 1 for your pumpkin! Don’t worry, your pumpkin will shine long and bright with one so share your lights with a pumpkin in need. And that’s it folks! You’re guaranteed to win that 1st place for your next pumpkin carving contest. Happy Halloween!

4th of July Decor DIY

Hello Crafters! Elly here.

It’s 4th of July, guests are on their way and you don’t have that epic entrance to wow them. What do you do? Introducing..

You’re probably wondering, “how on earth will I EVER do that?” Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s really not as complicated as it seems.

Things that you need: 4th of July leis 12159-RWB + LED String lights 11950-WT and the usual DIY kit: scissors and glue.

Step 1.

You have to cut and wrap the leis around the String lights. Make sure the ends of the leis are secured so that the flowers don’t fall off! They should look something like this:

Beauty! At first, we wanted to decorate the table but realized it’d make a beautiful backdrop + entryway for all our guests! We simply taped the string lights around the door and ta-da! spontaneity at its finest.

Not done yet! With all the leftover leis, we decided to tape them up on the top of the door frame to create a beautiful drop for the entry. Looks something like this…

It doesn’t only make a great entryway for your guests but an awesome photo wall! Got two birds with one stone! Check out a few of our test shots below!

Check out how to make the other wall HERE. Love to see some of YOUR creative ideas! Tag us at @Flashingblinkylights to show us YOUR creations!

Happy 4th of July! ELLY OUT.

Light Up Your Stockings!

There is a new video, filmed with great Christmas Stocking Stuffers and Santa Claus himself.

Watch him take advantage of our great Christmas Sale going on every year! Stay in tune for next Christmas!

DIY Light Crafts: Add Light Clips To Halloween Glitter Skulls!

Good day, crafty ladies & gents.                                                                                       Back with more DIY light crafts for fellow Halloween party animals.  Today’s topic: Halloween Glitter Skulls & how to make them look WAY more awesome.

Halloween Glitter Skulls & other Halloween shapes made of styrofoam are all the rage right now + inexpensive as all get out.  Found this cute skull & spider topped headband at Michael’s Craft Store.  Accentuated it EASY with 2 slow color change “Aurora” light clips.  Just remove the tiny pads that come on each clip (for use as LED earrings), stick the clips out, then shove them into the eye sockets of your Halloween Glitter Skulls.  BAM!  Whammy!  Get ready for compliments, fashionistas.  If you’re partying extra hard while wearing something like this, just add some glue to the light clip backing & you’re good to go, a.k.a. dance that booty off without losing your lights!  untz, untz

A little background on the Aurora clips, for they are my favorite & good for so much more than Halloween glitter skulls:  they’re named after aurora borealis, that magical light display up in the northern skies.  Dreamy to the MAX.  Not only do they make for unique party earrings, but I clip them into up-do hairstyles.  Add a few scattered flashing light clips to give the illusion that your princess hair is sparkling, or fill your up-do hairstyle with a bunch of Aurora lights for a futuristic glowing ‘do.  The slow movement from color to color is easy on the eyes, plus the white cap over the LEDs dims them just a bit; essential if you’re wearing these in a darkened room or dimly lit bar.  Our Aurora lights are definitely more subtle vs. our other flashy colors with clear caps.

OK, back to sprucing up our website with more fun new holiday stuff for you to check out!

‘Til next time, craft heads.                                                                                                  TCB & DIY ~                                                                                                                           ~ Nikki

Illuminated

Welcome to the week, my Illuminati, the Illuminated ones.

Not that Illuminati, the other ones, the ones who like to have fun.

Anyway, since you are illuminated, it wouldn’t hurt to get you illuminated further, right? Last week, we not only updated you on what was to come, but now I have other announcements:

Our first commercial is ready to get released virally, as soon as we are able to spread the word effectively. Once we are ready, it’ll be ready. It’s not complicated, expansive, but it is illuminated, as well as simple. You’d like it.

Also, go here for a new product review: The Night Owl Mama – Cool Light Up Flashing Blinky Light Products for Night Time Fun

They loved it.

Safe Fireworks: They Light Up 4th of July But They Do Not Burn

A Light Up Party that does not have to involve fireworks on 4th of July makes for a very happy and content set of parents as well as children who get to not only have fun, but come out unscathed on July 5th. In fact, one can be safe and fun without any fireworks.

Yet all this emphasis on safety and we have yet to scratch the surface on how exactly we can have a potentially fireworks-free party (leave it up to your neighbors and their smuggled fireworks) with just as much craziness. Because “safe” and “fun” can be synonymous.

First, the drinks: Because why settle for anything less than bright and crazy? Adults, drink your beers (and root beers, young’ns) in one of our Red, White, and Blue Light Up Pilsner Glasses. Then take the burgers, chips, potato salad, and Jell-O, and serve it up with a side of awesome light-ups!

For the great outdoors, a few things will be perfect to light up the streets: Firstly, pictured at the top of this post, you really do need our incredibly popular light up, Light Up American Flags. And what good is a big party if you can’t accessorize? A Sequin Red, White & Blue Tie do the trick. Since we love both swords and America (I hope you also love both), you’ll want a few Red, White, and Blue American Swords, and you’ll thank me later. All of these things are sure to trump fireworks with how safe they are. Might as well call them Safe Fireworks, because they light up but they don’t burn.

Now, you’re probably asking about things to wear and decorate? If not, I’ll tell you anyway.

Red, White & Blue Hawaiian Light Up Leis!

Red, White & Blue Light Up Noodle Headbands!

Red, White & Blue Light Up Mohawks!

Red, White & Blue Cool Shades LED Sunglasses!

And guess what, friends? All that and more can be found right here: 4th of July Flashing Blinky Lights!

Well, this blog was made to inspire and since I know these products, I know it will have inspired you to be safe but do not that let hold back your block party and fireworks displays, just let it keep you mindful of the wonderful light up options we have. Your peace of mind and sense of fun will thank you for it.

By the way, is it possible to copyright the term “Safe Fireworks”? I love it.

Not So Average Light Ups

Lookie there!

Wrote that with Not So Average Mama, who was kind enough to let us crash her party. Great site, especially for parents out there who need a little extra advice to spruce up that busy home life.

That’s that! Enjoy your weekend, light it up, see you next week.
